Great experience.
Great experience overall. Didn't have to wait long, either in the waiting room or the exam room. Doctor Whitlock spent more time with me than many doctors, and he treated me like I was smart enough to understand what he had to say. All the medical assistants and office staff were friendly and helpful.
I have been seeing Dr Harlan for 7 years. He is amazing. He listens, I never feel rushed and I know that he cares. When moving to a new state it is scary to figure out who to see for your medical issues. I feel that Dr Harlan (and everyone else in DHP that I have come in contact with) are committed to helping me deal with my digestive issues. Thank you!
A colonoscopy is a real pain in the ass, if that wasn't an inside joke, it should be, they had that balance between focus and clinical detachment that I think is critical. They were very procedural. They probably see, you know, i'm six hundred butts a week, but they seem to be in tune with the fact that for us undergoing the procedure. This is not a routine thing. I can't think of anything else the team could have done to make my experience any better. Everyone in the practice that I had contact with from the moment I arrived was stellar. All of the nurses were kind, present, considerate, and helpful. I received a difficult diagnosis and Dr. Gaven was incredibly patient, attentive, and caring as he helped me understand what was happening and my next steps. I cannot say enough about how positive my experience was in the midst of a very difficult situation.
I try to keep trips to Asheville at a minimum. I initially didn't want to go to DHP because of having to make another trip to Asheville, however it was going to take 9 months to get a colonoscopy at a facility closer to me. I am so glad I went to DHP! Best experience from beginning with scheduling to getting my results so quickly afterwards. The facility was totally efficient and the design is well thought out. Love the new facility and EVERYONE I dealt with. So professional yet so friendly and reassuring. An awesome experience - well? - except for prep day!🤣 Now if they just offered a pill regimen instead of “all the liquid options” it would be perfect!! Thanks everyone!
