This visit was unique in my experience and a very satisfactory boost in my confidence regarding physicians practicing their calling at Asheville Gastroenterology! Dr. May had paid attention to my medical history, asked questions to be certain of clear understanding, and advised me of his medical opinion without closing any other options for my consideration. I was very pleased with the care I received for my very first Colonoscopy. From the check in, to the nurse who hooked up my IV, to the Dr who talked to me before and after my procedure, to the Anesthesiologist who talked to me before and after my procedure, to the tech who assisted in the room during my procedure, to the nurse who talked to me when everything was finished and offered me something to drink and also removed my IV. Overall my visit was smooth, and the staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. My initial appointment was set up within 1.5 weeks of my GP’s referral, and I was seen just a few days later. I was then scheduled for a colonoscopy just 5 days out! If possible I would leave 4.5 stars, as my visit was phenomenal with the only holdup being that I had to enter much of the same intake information 2 times online (new patient forms/patient portal update) and again on paper upon arrival. I was informed that I was due for my annual check-up. I requested that I would be seen in the Brevard office. PA Ryan Nielsen asked me a good amount of questions and I informed him of the issues and concerns I was having. He listened very attentively and then suggested a number of ways to address the problems. Mr. Nielsen is extremely knowledgeable. I am greatly impressed every time I see him.
