I would have given less than one star but couldn't. Most incompetent staff anywhere. Lost patient blood sample and stool sample and was unable to schedule an appointment to make up for this failure until 60 days later. Please find yourself another facility to avoid unnecessary delay in your treatment.
First, Dr. Cender was great - he was professional and did a great job. As many have written, trying to get an appointment or a a return call is nearly impossible. I wrote three messages asking for a call to schedule an appointment; then called the office (you can NEVER get a live person) to see if anyone is even checking the "portal". All this started on a Monday - to my surprise - I got a call back on Saturday. No one should have to work this hard to get an appointment. Entire experience was excellent. Nursing staff was very attentive and made me feel relaxed before procedure. Everything was explained fully. Staff for the procedure and recovery were excellent.
This morning I arrive after doing my prep for a colonoscopy. Met at the door and told they were closed because their water pipes broke over Christmas and some one should have called me. No one called me and I did all that for nothing!!! Not even a "We are sorry." Just do you want to reschedule. No! I am furious!!!!!
Joe DeCosta is a P.A. it after seeing him once, I always see him. He takes time and talks things through. Explains stuff. Somehow I feel most comfortable talking “shit” with Joe. And all the other humbling subjects that need discussing.
Digital experience horrible - one star. In person experience excellent - five stars.
I don't know what is going on here, but I continually get text messages stating I have a colonoscopy on such and such date. I am not due for a colonoscopy, have not scheduled a colonoscopy and repeatedly request cancellation. Numerous attempts to get a person on the phone have failed even after being on hold up to 30 minutes. Some things have definitely changed since the merger!
Website is impossible to navigate. You can not determine if a form has been submitted or not. No one ever answers the phone. I have been trying to schedule an appointment since April,
Asheville office is bad news. They NEVER answer the phone, call back at inconvenient times and ask the same questions endlessly. They have cancelled one appointment and my procedure. They want me to have it in the hospital due to a pre-existing condition but they have done it once before with the same condition. They have no idea if insurance will cover in hospital procedures.
