Dr. Schlais a true professional well mannered knowledgeable doctor. I would have gave Dr. Schlais 6 stars but five is the highest.
Was very courteous. Took the time to fully explain details and answer questions. Very friendly.
I moved to northern WI and needed a new gastroenterologist for follow-up on post stomach cancer surgery with complications. I have been very pleased with Dr. Gagovich. She is very personable, treats you with respect, and explains things at your level (I'm a RN so she spoke with me as if I was a colleague). Her nurses are good in getting back to you with results or if you call in. The Wausau office is super easy to get to, a very important factor for me.

Once I got to my appointment everyone was passionate, caring, and really great. It was the phone calls prior that really put me off and was not expecting much before my visit. What happened was with the check in person who reviews the chart for completion and insurance coverage. We had issues getting my insurance card and this worker(sorry I do not have her name) treated me like I was a delinquent and was not going to pay. I had a colonoscopy. They are very busy with each doctor performing 16-20 of them per day. No one ever got back to me on the results, or if I need to have further treatment or future colonoscopies. They just send you to their website, and you can read a highly technical doctor's report with medical terms you don't understand.
At first I was so impressed with Dr. Hartke. He said he was going to get to the bottom of what was going on. I believed him which was dumb. He did an upper endo/ colonoscopy. Didn't find anything other than some polyps. Instead of trying something else to figure out the cause of my problems, he pushed 3 different prescriptions on me that I have to take all at different times 2-4 times a day so I can't go 3 hours without taking something and said see you in a year if you want to make an appointment then. Receptionist and nursing staff were nice. Dr. Hartke’s bedside manner is fair. I wouldn’t recommend seeing this provider to my family and friends. He does not listen very well and seems very inexperienced. Provider delayed my treatment which made symptoms get significantly worse causing multiple hospitalizations. Berated me during one of my appointments. My physical health suffered greatly until I found another GI provider at another facility.
No bedside manner, doesn’t care about the patient and I woke up during the procedure!
